McDonald’s Monopoly 2026: How to Play, Get Free Plays, and Win
Yes, it’s back. McDonald’s Monopoly 2026 is live now, with game pieces on packaging through November 1. Peel the sticker, scan it in the app, and you’re playing for free food, points, and prizes up to $1 million.
One thing before your next order: register for the game in the McDonald’s app BEFORE you buy anything. That single step unlocks bonus plays that most people miss.
How do I play McDonald’s Monopoly 2026?
Three steps, in this order.
- Register first. Download the McDonald’s app, opt into MyMcDonald’s Rewards, and register for the Monopoly game. Do this before you order, not after.
- Order and peel. Buy eligible menu items between October 6 and November 1, then peel the game piece sticker off the packaging.
- Scan in the app. Scan the code to reveal your prize: instant-win food, Rewards points, a collect-to-win property piece, or a Chance Card play.
The order matters more than anything else on this page. Registration first, purchase second. Get that backwards and you leave free plays on the table.
Which menu items have game pieces?
Not everything on the menu carries a piece. Order from this list:
- Hash browns, McMuffins, and biscuit sandwiches
- Large soft drinks, iced coffee, and McCafe beverages
- Large French fries
- 10-piece Chicken McNuggets
- Quarter Pounder with Cheese
- Big Mac
- 4-piece McCrispy Strips
If the item isn’t on this list, there’s no piece on it. When in doubt during the promotion, order from the list.
What’s the cheapest way to collect game pieces?
If you want the most stickers per dollar, players on r/McDonalds are pointing at the Sausage McMuffin. It usually runs $1.79 to $1.99, and with an app coupon some players report paying around $1 per muffin, which works out to about $1 per sticker. Nothing else comes close per piece.
Three honest caveats. First, that price is community-reported, not from McDonald’s, and menu prices vary by store. Second, McMuffins are breakfast only, usually gone by mid-morning. Third, the daily cap is eight entries and eight Chance Card plays, so buying ten muffins in one run does not buy ten plays.
And honestly, the cheapest play of all is free: the mail-in entry costs only two first-class stamps (one for the outer envelope, one for the return envelope). No purchase, and you get the same game piece plus Chance Card play as a paying order.
How do the bonus Chance Card plays work?
This is the highest-value mechanic in the game, and it’s free. Every eligible item you buy through the app, or while showing your Rewards code at the kiosk, counter, or drive-thru, earns a bonus Chance Card play in the app. Each play is another shot at a prize, on top of whatever your peeled piece revealed.
The catch: it only works if you registered before ordering. Order first and register later, and those bonus plays are gone. There’s no way to claim them retroactively, so if you haven’t registered yet, do it now before your next run. Every order after registration counts.
Can I play without buying anything?
Yes. Mail a handwritten request with your full name, mailing address, email address, and date of birth. Put it inside a self-addressed stamped envelope, then put that inside a separate stamped outer envelope addressed to:
Monopoly Game at McDonald’s Game Piece Request, PO Box 4006, Dept. S9851, Grand Rapids, MN 55730-4006
Requests must be received by November 2, 2026. One request per outer envelope. Each valid request gets you one game piece plus one Chance Card play, same as buying. Full details are in the official rules at playatmcd.com.
What can I actually win?
About 1 in 5 entries wins something, and most of those are free food or Rewards points (1,500 to 7,000 points per win). That’s the honest baseline: play expecting snacks, not a jackpot.
The big prizes are real but gated behind rare pieces. Each game piece reveals one of four things: instant-win food, instant-win points, a collect-to-win property piece, or a Chance Card play. The $1 million cash prize, the 2027 Jeep Cherokee, and free McDonald’s for a year go to players who complete property sets, and every set has one or two pieces printed far less often than the rest. Don’t spend extra chasing the million. Play your normal orders, register first, and let the food wins come.

FAQ
Do I need the McDonald’s app to play?
Yes. The peel is physical, but every prize, property piece, and Chance Card play lives in the app. No app, no game.
Who can play?
Legal residents of the 50 US states plus DC, 18 or older, with one app account per person.
I already ordered without registering. Did I miss out?
The bonus plays for those orders are gone, since registration has to come first. But register now and every future order earns them.
Is there a daily limit?
Yes. Eight game piece entries and eight Chance Card plays per day, Eastern Time. Past that, extra orders don’t add plays, so there’s no reason to over-order in a single day.
